*Beauty and Health Segment w/ Prissa Jean: IMPORTANT UPDATED INFORMATION ON PROPERLY WEARING YOUR MASK

***We sincerely apologize for any misinformation communicated during this segment and we now have some updated information on the correct way to wear your mask. An important correction we would like to address is which color side you wear to properly protect yourself with temporary/disposable masks.***

Based on information gathered from the World Health Organization as well as the CDC, the blue side of the mask goes on the OUTSIDE because it is waterproof and the white on the inside because it is absorbent. We have provided a link to this information in case you want to share with friends and family.

*Pre meditation Reading by Lina Skiba (You may read this to yourself out loud for a quick pick me up :)):

The Laughing Heart: Charles Bukowski

your life is your life

don't let it be clubbed into dank submission.

be on the watch.

there are ways out.

there is a light somewhere.

it may not be much light but

it beats the darkness.

be on the watch.

the gods will offer you chances.

know them.

take them.

you can't beat death but

you can beat death in life, sometimes.

and the more often you learn to do it,

the more light there will be.

your life is your life.

know it while you have it.

you are marvelous

the gods wait to delight

in you.

*Weekly Ayurvedic Health Recipe:

Masala Chaas (Indian spiced buttermilk)- Many thanks to Kayla Coveney for sharing this recipe.

Toast 1 tsp cumin seeds with 1 tsp of ghee for 15 seconds then let cool.

Blend:

1 cup yogurt

1 1/2 cup water

10-12 mint leaves

10-12 cilantros leaves

1 tsp cumin

1-2 green chilis

1-2 tsp fresh grated ginger

pink himalayan salt

pepper

1 tablespoon of flax oil optional for extra moisture

After you have blended the ingredients above. Mix in the ghee & cumin seeds quickly and small amounts to prevent yogurt from curdling.

Top with cumin, mint & cilantros. Enjoy for a meal or after a meal to help digest.
